OVERVIEW /
After a few years of growth, Charlene knew it was time to evolve From Water to Wine. By 2021, the brand no longer reflected her vision—or the powerful community she had built. She wanted a more elevated, cohesive presence that matched her mission, while freeing herself from the overwhelm of doing it all alone.
After years of working together behind the scenes, Emma and Ke were ready to officially step into the spotlight together as Systems Design Lab. Their goal was to establish a brand, officially launch the business, and begin building their brand prescence as SDL.

CHALLENGE /
The challenge was creating a brand identity that felt elevated yet effortless—something Charlene could easily use across platforms without complication, while still embodying the beauty, elegance, and intention behind From Water to Wine.

APPROACH /
Leading with strategy, we reimagined the brand as a seamless, elevated experience—focused, cohesive, and rooted in community. We defined long-term goals for growth through memorable events and deeper engagements, bringing clarity to the message, audience, and the kind of transformation Charlene wants to create.
A key insight from the strategy process was recognizing Charlene herself as the heartbeat of the brand. Her energy, perspective, and relatability are what keep her audience coming back.
From there, we developed a plan to weave more of Charlene’s voice into the brand—between events, online, and through content that keeps her community supported and inspired year-round.
Visually, the brand reflects its modern, creative, and uplifting essence. Fluid letterforms nod to the name’s transformation metaphor, with subtle design details—like a droplet and a curved shoulder—bringing the story to life with elegance and intention.

Originally, I was looking for someone just to help me make it look pretty. I didn't realize how much work needed to be done behind the scenes to drive those changes. I reached out for the aesthetics and left with so much more.
Clarity was the biggest takeaway from our sessions together. Through our work, I've been able to stay consistent with messaging as well as keeping myself focused on my "why" and not doing things for the sake of doing it.
Biggest win? Confidence! I absolutely LOVE how my brand looks and feels. And because of the newfound clarity and alignment, I've been able to focus on marketing and move forward with making FWTW an LLC. The confidence that has come from our work on FWTW has pushed me to go ALL IN!
